About the event
As always, the new shared winter fat biking and snowshoe trails (pilot project for the 2022/2023 winter) will be open for self-guided riding on Global Fat Bike Day. Come join us to celebrate!
Fat bike lessons will also be hosted by PMBI certified instructor and SNO volunteer, Duncan Milne from The Cycling Co. at no cost except a Food Bank donation (monetary or food donation) on the following schedule:
11:00 – 11:30 am: Braking and body position session
11:30 – 12:00 pm: Cornering session
12:30 pm – 1:00 pm: Slow speed maneuvers (track stands, ratcheting, re-starting from standing, balancing)
1:00pm - 1:45pm: games/contests/races (if participant numbers and conditions permit)
Fat bike demos will be available from Bow Cycle on a first-come first-served basis (deposit required).
Ridley's Cycle will be on-site with a warming station (think hot chocolate, coffee, and a heater!).
SNO will have their ski and shared snowshoe/fat bike trail drag-grooming machinery and drag grooming equipment out for people to see and learn about!
This event is weather and trail conditions permitting.
RVSPing is optional but will help us guage numbers and let you know if the event is cancelled.
We look forward to seeing everyone out there!
