Chinook Glaze = icy conditions

The Chinook Glaze is here! Horrid!!! Calgary's melt-freeze cycles during most Chinooks means the snow has sublimated around Shaganappi, resulting in significant snow loss.

The grooming decision is to not groom or track set, because snow preservation is more important.

Keeping the icy Chinook Glaze layer on top of the snow surface will help protect and retain the little snow we do have, while we hope for consistent cold temperatures and more natural snow.

Until then, if you choose to ski Shaganappi, it will be very challenging and icy. Any kind of fall will be on to a very hard surface.

Variable conditions exist, there may be bare patches and rocks coming through, be very cautious on downhills.
