Cross-Country Skiing: The cross-country ski trails at Shaganappi Point Golf Course were groomed last night. The snow coverage on the ski trails is still in decent.
Skate skiers will still have an advantage over classic skiing due to the lack of recent snow fall. Classic skiers should think about using waxless or skin tech skis due to glazing.
The cross-country ski trail on the southwest corner was re-routed to avoid low snow cover and can be easily navigated.
A volunteer spent 2.5 hours last night renovating the cross-country ski trails.
Fat Biking and Snowshoeing: Fat biking is in good shape still. Minor ruts and some ice are present but it's overall in decent shape. Studded tires recommended. Snowshoeing is quite good in most places.
Chinook Blast Events: In other news, Shaganappi Nordic Operations Club (SNO) is excited to announce that we will be hosting three Chinook Blast events on Saturdays from 11 to 2 pm, including January 28th, February 4th, and February 11th as part of the city-wide winter festival. Enjoy the SNO trail advice and memberships booth, beer tasting with Eighty-Eight Brewing, coffee from Crickle Creek, Big Buns Club cinnamon buns, free Bow Cycle fat bike demos, free Cycling Co fat bike lessons, and more. It should be a... blast!
