January 6th: Back in Business!

shagcomms

Thanks to last weekend's snow (and our amazing volunteers) we were out this past weekend packing and grooming the trails!

Fat bike trails: Trails have been packed over the last few days and are good to go - Brad (our amazing fat biking lead) rates them a great 8 out of 10: "Just a little drifted in snow dust, makes some sections a little spicy, otherwise I think I only put a foot down a few times over 7 Kilometres.". Please be mindfull that the old icy snow is still present due to the most recent snowfall being relatively light (studded tires will help).

Ski trails: All trails except the expert loop got packed, and were left with corduroy. Due to the underlying hard/icy snow, we were unable to lay new classic ski tracks, although many spots have skier-set tracks. Beware on the connector trail from the main ski trails to the driving range/expert loop: There is ongoing construction and as a result the snowcover is very thin on this short section, walking recomended!

Walking trails: Most of the walking trails have been packed and are good to go, with the most recent snowfall bringing some snow but not a significant amount, the old icy snow can still be present underneath certain areas making the trails slippery.

Beautifull conditions on the fat bike trails this past weekend:
